Famous soccer player David Beckham is now officially retired from his sports career. As the 38-year-old English footballer embraces the new chapter in his life, images about the former soccer player exploded on the internet to give tribute to a legend.

David Beckham confirmed his plan to retire on May 16. During his last home game for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on May 18, David became emotional after receiving a warm send-off and standing ovation in Paris, France.

It turns out the match was already David's last because he suffered a thigh injury. Coach Carlo Ancelotti revealed that David Beckham was not able to train in the week after obtaining the injury so the midfielder expert was no longer a participant of the Paris Saint-Germain team to play Lorient during the season-ending game on Sunday, May 26.

Loic Fery, the Lorient President, turned the Sunday game into a tribute event when he gave David Beckham a bright orange jersey with his name, the number seven and the word "Kenavo" printed at the back. It means "Good-bye" in Breton which is Brittany's Celtic language.

On the other hand, fans paid tribute as they played bagpipes exuding a warm farewell to the football legend. Coach Carlo Ancelotti often admires David Beckham for his exemplary behavior to the other players particularly with his attitude and dedication during practice.

"We might just never see the like of David Beckham again. I don't think there's anybody in the world right now who has the potential to become the next brand Beckham," Simon Chadwick, an expert in sport business and marketing at Coventry University in England, stated during an interview.

Meanwhile, the PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is optimistic that David Beckham will still take part in the PSG team's future perhaps as an ambassador or role model. David Beckham's football career may be over but he is expected to continue succeeding as a businessman and sports ambassador.
