Dark Souls 3
"Dark Souls 3" is coming in April. From Software

From Software and Bandai Namco have released the opening cinematic trailer for “Dark Souls 3.” Over three minutes long, the footage, seen below, shows a pretty dark and detailed world waiting for fans of the franchise.

The third and final installment of the trilogy for “Souls” is looking at just a fraction of what the developer has in store for players once “Dark Souls 3” released on April 12. For those who are trying to fathom the kind of opponent they will face in the third game, it appears to be a rather notorious and very big and daunting enemy judging from the sheer size alone.

Not a lot of the storyline is touched on the trailer. In fact, for Bandai Namco has stated that the latest chapter will keep fans guessing on just where and when “Dark Souls 3” will take place in the game’s universe.

“The next chapter in the epic saga created from From Software will keep you guessing what’s around the next corner. You don’t want to miss the incredible adventure,” said Bandai Namco in the official YouTube channel.

While the official trailer is out, there is a leaked footage, this time featuring some gameplay scenes. Gamepur has sighted the video from one YouTube user, and this one has some scenes that show the new boss Ashen Adjudicator. There are even some images that have been leaked showcasing some character information.

Japanese fans will get “Dark Souls 3” earlier on March 24. PS4, Xbox One and PC players will get it on April 12. In the meantime, DualShockers has sighted some screenshots from a Famitsu edition. These showcase some of the bosses, characters and glimpses of the dreary world that are the extension of what can be seen in the new cinematic trailer below.

The Day One Edition will be sold at US$60 (approx. AU$84) as a free upgrade. For a more comprehensive edition, the Collector’s Edition, sold at US$129.99 (approx.
