“The Originals” star Daniel Sharman is moving from the supernatural CW TV series to CBS’ medical drama pilot. The latest casting reports confirmed that the 28-year-old British actor got cast as a lead star in the new CBS drama series titled “LFE.”

A Deadline report revealed that the upcoming medical drama pilot titled “LFE” will center on second-year residents at a top hospital in New York City. The residents will be trying to balance their god complexes with humanity.

In the drama pilot, actor Daniel Sharman will portray the role of a good-hearted and expertly talented surgical resident named Joe. The upcoming project will add up to the British actor’s work credits which includes “The Nine Lives Of Chloe King,” “Immortals,” “Teen Wolf” and “The Originals.”

Daniel Sharman gave a convincing performance as Kol Mikaelson in “The Originals” Season 2 after Aussie actor Nathaniel Buzolic portrayed the character in “The Vampire Diaries” and the flashback scenes in “The Originals” Season 2. However, the fans of the CW TV series said goodbye to actor Daniel Sharman and character Kol Mikaelson again in “The Originals” Season 2, Episode 14 titled “I Love You, Goodbye.”

As a recap, Finn (Yusuf) placed a death curse on Kol where he can no longer jump into another body to live. Rebekah promised Kol before he died that she will do everything she can to bring back her brother.

Executive producer Michael Narducci admitted in an E!Online TV Scoop report that “The Originals” team were “bummed” about Kol’s death. However, Michael Narducci explained that they realized someone must suffer in order to create the stakes of what villain Finn was willing to do against his siblings to fulfill his plans.

“At the same time, we've walked this line with Kol with being self-absorbed and manipulative and selfish vs. someone who actually is willing to behave in a way some would even call heroic,” Narducci shared. The executive producer added that the fans saw Kol’s heroic move when he helped in Davina’s (Danielle Campbell) plan of saving Josh (Steven Krueger) and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) from Finn.

“Kol had a real affection for Davina that was above and beyond his desire to get daggers and have a powerful ally. But doing that led to his death,” Narducci shared. As for Daniel Sharman’s status in “Teen Wolf,” the actor could still return in the MTV series because his beta werewolf character, Isaac Lahey, did not get killed off in the Season 3 but only left Beacon Hills with Chris Argent (JR Bourne) following Allison Argent’s (Crystal Reed) death.
