Bindi Irwin has traded her usual sneakers, shorts and t-shirt attire for a pair of strappy high-heeled sandals and fringe dress as she prepares for her dance performance on the 21st season of the U.S. show “Dancing With The Stars,” or “DWTS.”

Bindi was photographed wearing what News.com.au says will be the first dress she will wear to “Dancing With The Stars.” The daughter of the late Australian wildlife expert Steve Irwin, aka "The Crocodile Hunter," was snapped wearing a blue beaded dress with an open back design. Bindi was in full makeup with her hair done in waves.

The 17-year-old was accompanied by her mother, Terri Irwin, as she headed to her first dance rehearsal for her debut appearance on “DWTS.” Bindi also made sure to bring along with her a black jacket and her comfort shoes, a pair of Converse All Stars, to her rehearsals.

Bindi admitted being nervous about her dance performance for Season 21 of the hit dance show. Earlier in the day she was reportedly spotted in Los Angeles shopping with her mum and said that she’s “shaking like a leaf” with anticipation. Bindi is said to be the first celebrity to be chosen as a contestant for the latest season of “DWTS.”

She announced her participation on the new season of “Dancing With The Stars” during a guest appearance on ABC News’ “Good Morning America,” or “GMA.” She also expressed excitement as well as apprehension over her dance performance on the show.

“I am used to wrangling crocodiles. This is completely different to anything I have ever done in my life,” she said in the ABC News report.

Bindi also commented on how she would need to adjust to wearing heels for “Dancing With The Stars” considering that it’s not her usual choice of footwear. She even admitted to feeling excited over having to trade in her khaki outfits for a change.

"I'm not used to being in heels, so I've been trying to practice. It’s nice to be a girly girl now and then,” she said during her interview on “Good Morning America” on Monday.

Bindi has reportedly requested for her partner in “Dancing With The Stars” to be someone who also loves animals. In her interview with “GMA,” she revealed that one of the reasons she decided to join the show was to make her father proud. Irwin will appear on the new season of “DWTS” on Sept.14.
