HBO's popular comedy series 'Curb your enthusiasm' will return for season 9 later this year. However, the developers of the show, including Larry David, are expected to film a tenth and final season, per reports.

The extended gap between seasons 8 (2011) and 9 (2017) led some to believe that David & Co. had given up on the show. However, the co-creator of 'Seinfeld' was admittedly forced to wear his writing cap once again after facing extreme peer pressure from loyal fans, co-stars and HBO, who were collectively clamouring for another season or two. Last June, when the show announced a ninth season, David simply said: "In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, 'I left, I did nothing, I returned.'"

JB Smoove, who made his debut during season six as the character Leon Black, recently told Complex in an interview that he was pushing David to write a tenth season. "I told Larry, you can't end like that (after eight seasons). You got to put a stamp on the season. It was a great season eight, but season nine? Going to be historic because it's the return. But then you gotta (got to) do another season because you have to seal it off. Ten seasons looks good in the box set. Eight don't look—nine don't look good. Ten is perfect," said Smoove, who was wrote into the show as the cousin of Loretta Black before becoming a roommate of David.

Could Curb your enthusiasm season 9 begin in Paris?

At the end of season 8, David and Smoove flee from New York to Paris to simply avoid partaking in a charity fundraiser hosted by Michael J Fox. David had previously fled from Los Angeles to New York for the very same reason. In 2011, David told the Huffington Post that the production crew had difficulty dealing with vocal New York crowds and would likely avoid shooting in the Big Apple during future seasons. It was recently confirmed that 'Curb your enthusiasm season 9' would almost exclusively be filmed in LA.

Despite the return to Los Angeles, season 9 could likely begin with David and Smoove's adventures in Paris. "It's going great man (season 9 production). We got a few episodes already in. I go back to work on Tuesday. We're just knocking it out. It's going to be a great season of Curb. It's good to be back," Smoove told last November when the cast returned to the set.

"Curb your enthusiasm season 9" is due for release in the fall 0f 2017. Recurring cast members such as Jeff Garlin (Jeff Greene), Susie Essman (Susie Greene), Cheryl Hines (Cheryl David), Ted Danson, Richard Lewis and Bob Einstein (Marty Funkhouser) have all been confirmed for what could be the penultimate season. Previously, there was a two-year gap between seasons 5, 6, 7 and 8. Going by that pattern, we could expect season 10 in 2019.
