Sylvia Day's "Crossfire" series, which is often compared to E.L. James' "Fifty Shades of Grey," will be on TV. Superman Henry Cavill is among fan favourites to play the lead role of Gideon Cross. Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Magic Mike) is also topping polls for the sexy billionaire character.

As soon as news broke that Lionsgate optioned Day's series, fans have been eager to promote their favourites for the Gideon Cross role. Henry Cavill, Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer and Brit model David Gandy are only a few of the sexy male celebs whom fans have been supporting for the Crossfire gig.

Both Crossfire and Fifty Shades are erotic fiction series, but the latter is widely more popular. Day's prose has been gathering more positive reviews, but she has published several novels prior to writing Gideon Cross. Among the four actors mentioned above, it seems Joe Manganiello is the most likely to snag the TV job.

Henry Cavill is expected to be busy filming the next Man of Steel instalments. He might be out for the Gideon Cross gig. Incidentally, Cavill and Bomer are being pitted by fans for the role of Fifty Shades' Christian Grey.

Considering Crossfire or Gideon Cross production, Joe Manganiello has the best TV-friendly calendar among the four. Bomer has White Collar and The Normal Heart on his plate at the moment. Gandy is frequently travelling as part of his modelling commitments. Lionsgate might want to cast someone who has relatively less exposure. Of course it also helps that Manganiello carries a sexy rough and rugged appeal that makes girls swoon over.

Between Henry Cavill and Joe Manganiello, the latter is more likely to play Gideon Cross. What do Crossfire readers think?
