"Twilight" actor Robert Pattinson initially planned to spend Christmas with on- and off- girlfriend Kristen Stewart.

The British heartthrob changed his mind and decided to spend the holiday apart from Kristen Stewart after she received cold treatment from his family during Thanksgiving dinner in London.

According to Heat magazine reports, actress Kristen Stewart had an awkward dinner experience when she spent the Thanksgiving weekend with Robert Pattinson and his family.

"They had a meal on Thanksgiving, and it was nerve-wracking for Kristen. She felt very uncomfortable and Rob's sisters couldn't be completely welcoming," the source revealed.

Kristen Stewart did not have any contact with Robert Pattinson's family after the cheating scandal broke out. She felt anxious facing them especially his older sisters Lizzy and Victoria.

In an attempt to repair their damaged relationship, Robert Pattinson forgave Kristen Stewart and took her back. His family is having difficulty in forgiving the actress. They are also not too pleased that the couple reconciled.

"It won't go back to normal straight away, even if Rob has decided to try again," the source shared.

The British actor's family now insists that he should spend Christmas with them. "Rob's mum wanted him to spend Christmas with them in London. Rob's family made it clear that they really want to see him over Christmas and, after the intense promotional tour for Twilight, Rob liked the idea of spending time alone with his family," the source revealed.

Before the couple's Thanksgiving trip to the United Kingdom, spending Christmas there had been their plan. From London, they plan flying to Mexico for the New Year celebration.

Unfortunately for Kristen Stewart, all has changed now for she will have a hard time feeling comfortable around the Pattinson family. Due to the unpleasant family visit, Robert Pattinson feels it is best if he and Kristen spend Christmas apart with their own families.
