“The Vampire Diaries” (TVD) star Ian Somerhalder can now spend more quality time with his wife Nikki Reed as they work close to each other. The former “Twilight” actress has been added to the main cast of Fox TV series “Sleepy Hollow” Season 3 which films in Atlanta, Georgia, the same filming location of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7.

Reed, 27, shared in an interview with Entertainment Tonight (ET) that having close proximity with your partner helps in keeping a marriage in full bloom. Reed explained that staying connected and being in the same location physically is a real priority and most important in a marriage than anything else.

Reed further revealed to ET that she and Ian “always find time to be close to each other.” When asked if the fans will see her show up in Mystic Falls, Reed responded that she is not included in the CW TV series and it was never in the cards.

Reed also talked about her new TV role in the interview. The “Thirteen” actress confessed that she has been waiting for the role of Betsy Ross her entire life. Reed will be introduced as Betsy Ross, Ichabod Crane’s old flame in “Sleepy Hollow” Season 3 which is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 1.

Meanwhile, Somerhalder talked about what the fans can expect in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 in an interview with Popsugar at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con panel. Somerhalder teased that the new season will have a lot of great scenes featuring TVD characters Damon Salvatore and Bonnie Bennett, played by Kat Graham.

Somerhalder, 36, shared that Bonnie is now one of the few people that Damon would go to bat for. “There are very few people that he would do this for, but he loves Bonnie,” Somerhalder said in the Popsugar interview. The CW star divulged that “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7, which premieres on Oct. 8, will have less mythology and more relationships and emotions.
