The world is still in shock with the sudden death of Glee actor Cory Monteith. His co-star and girlfriend, Lea Michele, is obviously devastated with the news as a representative released a statement asking for the actress' privacy during this difficult time.

"We ask that everyone kindly respect Lea's privacy during this devastating time," the representative of Lea Michele declared. "Lea Michele is absolutely hysterical and completely inconsolable. She is devastated beyond belief," an unnamed source revealed to HollywoodLife.com.

"We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss," Cory's Viewpoint Public Relations representatives said in a released statement. It has been confirmed that Cory Monteith, who portrayed the character Finn Hudson on the successful musical television show Glee, has been found dead in a hotel room in Vancouver, Canada.

The producers of Glee, including 20th Century Fox Television, described Cory Monteith as "an exceptional performer and an even more exceptional person. The other cast members of Glee have started to pay tribute as well to Cory Monteith.

The cause of death is still unidentified but reports suspect that the actor died from a drug overdose. The 31-year-old actor reportedly hung out with some friends during a night out before he passed away.

According to the authorities' initial investigation, no signs of foul play were present in the hotel room where Monteith was found dead.

In April 2013, Lea Michele showed her support for Cory after the actor's rep confirmed about his decision to enter rehab due to substance abuse. "I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this," Lea stated at the time.

However, it was not Cory's first experience in a rehab for he already received treatment when he was only 19. The actor has been open about his struggles with addiction and even told Parade magazine that he was "lucky to be alive" in 2011 after trying "anything and everything."

Cory was able to complete his time in rehab last April for substance addiction. The actor was last pictured with girlfriend Lea Michele last June looking great and happy.

The couple has been dating for almost two years now with Lea further revealing what she feels about Cory during an interview with Marie Claire magazine in early 2013. "I don't even remember a time when he wasn't my boyfriend. No one knows me better than Cory," Lea said in the January issue of the magazine.
