“Containment” is an upcoming new TV series of the CW Network. Cast members and producers tease fans about the drama’s deadly epidemic during an interview at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, series creator Julie Plec, executive producers Chris Ord and Matt Corman, cast members Claudia Black and George Young and pilot director David Nutter attended the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con where the world premiere screening of “Containment” was held. The CW’s new TV series will tell the story of how the residents of Atlanta fight for their lives after a deadly epidemic spread in town.

Ord described the mysterious virus in “Containment” as “pretty deadly pretty fast.” Black, who portrays the character Sabine Lommers, believed the upcoming CW TV series is “100 percent plausible.”

“This is exactly how this kind of virus would mutate,” Black, who portrayed Dahlia in "The Originals" Season 2, further added. George Young, who portrays Victor Cannerts, stated the new CW TV series is “not-science fiction, it’s science fact.”

Plec shared she loves to write about people who are “fighting for their own self-protection and survival.” Corman teased every “Containment” episode will have its turns and thrills.

As for Nutter, the pilot director described “Containment” to be a compelling drama. Nutter further shared he wanted “Containment” to be a show telling the story about what would happen to humans in the real world.

In a Collider interview, Corman said he believes “Containment” will further expand the viewers of the CW Network. Meanwhile, Chris Wood talked about how his new character, a police officer named Jake, differs from Kai Parker in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6.

Wood, 27, shared Jake is a little bit of an introvert and a good guy unlike his evil character Kai in TVD. When asked to describe “Containment,” Wood stated the new drama series is about how people interact with each other when there is a threat and how these people respond when placed in grave circumstances.

Production is currently ongoing for the first season of “Containment” which is being shot in location at Atlanta, Georgia. The CW Network will announce the premiere schedule details of the new drama series soon.
