Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight contender Conor McGregor has made a habit of predicting how he will finish off his opponents in the Octagon. In his upcoming match against Dennis Siver in UFC Fight Night 59 Boston, the trash-talking Fighting Irishman is not backing down and is assuring a quick end to his opponent's fate.

Just as he quickly disposed of last year opponents Dustin Poirier and Diego Brandao, McGregor is boldly predicting that Siver will not last more than two minutes with him inside the Octagon. After compiling a 4-0 in the UFC, McGregor has been rubbing the wrong elbow ever since his abrupt ascent into the mixed martial arts totem pole. Now, he wants to continue with his rise with yet another impressive win.

"So January 18th, I feel I will stop Dennis Siver inside two minutes," McGregor said during the press conference for UFC 182 as reported by MMAFighting.com. "I've ran through some scenarios, I cannot see him escaping the first two minutes. He is a seasoned veteran, he is a kickboxing expert, a taekwondo expert, he is my most experienced competitor that I will ever have faced. But I feel that under two minutes it will take me to dispatch him, and again it will make way for the football stadium in Ireland."

It remains to be seen if "Notorious " will be able to make true to his quick work prediction given that he is facing a veteran and seasoned fighter in Siver. The German striker is polished not just in the face up department but also knows a thing or two in the ground battle. While the 26-year-old up-and-comer is the favourite coming in at 10-1 odds, he would be hard pressed to deliver on the promise to deliver a quick technical knockout win.

A lot of things are also hinged upon a McGregor win given the UFC President Dana White has revealed that McGregor only needs to win one more to be granted a title match against Jose Aldo, who holds the belt in the featherweight division for four years running. Varied reactions stemmed from the announcement with some of the mainstays in MMA pointing out that the Irishman is jumping the line of succession while some other co-fighters are lauding how much publicity for the sport McGregor is generating with his unusual style and unfathomable bravado.

Still come Fight Night, McGregor will be challenged to deliver upon his word and topple a surely fired-up Siver. If ever that happens, another bold prediction is lined up for the Dublin native -filling up the 90,000-seater Croke Park in Dublin.
