EA Sports’ upcoming “UFC 2” is an anticipated game especially for mixed martial arts fans as it is set to bring a more unique fighting experience than its predecessor. More details are coming out for the anticipated title, including a new gameplay video released by EA. The conclusion to UFC 194 Aldo vs. McGregor also confirmed who the male cover athlete will be for “UFC 2” alongside former women’s Bantamweight Champ, Ronda Rousey.

UFC 194 Aldo Vs. McGregor was not only a match to unify the UFC Featherweight Championship belt; it was also a battle for the next male cover athlete for “UFC 2.” It was none other than the “The Notorious” Conor Mcgregor who won the belt and the spot at the “UFC 2” cover after his quick first round 13-second knockout of now-former champion, Jose Aldo Jr.

Publisher EA Sports previously revealed their predictions for the match-up through three short gameplay videos for “UFC 2.” The three videos showcased the core aspects of the upcoming game, including the Knockout Physics System, Next-level Submissions and Dynamic Grappling.

First to be detailed is the new Knockout Physics System. The new gameplay mechanic seems to provide more legit and authentic knockouts compared with those in the previous title. It shows McGregor knocking out Aldo with a spinning heel kick.

The next gameplay video showcases the new submission system of “UFC 2.” In the previous title, players were limited to a few submissions depending on their position on the ground. “UFC 2” seems to up the ante by allowing players to do more submissions regardless of position. The gameplay video shows Aldo securing an armbar after a failed rear-naked choke attempt of McGregor.

Lastly, EA Sports showed how wrestling and takedowns work in the upcoming title. The video shows how precision and timing can allow the player to secure a clean takedown.

“UFC 2” launches in Spring 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The cover athletes are Ronda Rousey and the new UFC Featherweight Champ, Conor McGregor.
