Colombians are not yet ready to forgive Miss Universe host Steve Harvey for his blunder. They are reportedly burning his and the 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach's effigies to show their anger.

A video (below), showing Colombians celebrating New Year by burning effigies of 2015 Miss Universe Wurtzbach and pageant host Harvey, has become viral on social media. The video posted on Facebook by a certain Noider Almanza Barraza has been liked and shared heavily.

The video shows an unidentified man posing for the camera with Wurtzbach’s effigy being set on fire on the street. Just like Wurtzbach's coronation day look, the effigy also wore a blue gown, a crown and a Philippine sash.

According to Inquirer.net, the video was shot in San Felipe, Barranquilla, Colombia. The incident of burning the effigies stemmed from a controversy where Harvey first crowned Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as Miss Universe only to take back the crown and give it to Miss Philippines Wurtzbach.

The comedian owned up to his horrendous error and said it was an "honest mistake." However, Miss Colombia recently said she felt very embarrassed by the whole incident and could not bear to stand on stage when the Miss Universe crown was taken away from her.

“Because it is a dream I fought for. … I have always dreamed of this, of being Miss Universe. … It was very humiliating for me,” Miss Colombia said in an exclusive interview with Colombian radio station W Radio. She also dissed Miss Universe 2015 Wurtzbach saying, “I managed to make history which I think is more important than winning the Miss Universe title.”

Burning of effigies during New Year's eve is a tradition in Colombia, but the move has been criticised by many Filipinos and Colombians too. “I'm Colombian, and yes i do support miss Colombia, but this is doing way too much, this hurts my feelings because people are gonna think that the whole Colombian nation is childish and disrespectful, and. Miss Philippines did nothing, she has no fault at all,” wrote one user Jenni Lopez on YouTube page where the video is shown.
