The Cleveland cops killed Tanesha Anderson, a 37-year-old African American woman, by reportedly slamming her head on concrete just outside her family's home. Her brother, Joell, explained that Tanesha, who was bipolar as well as schizophrenic, was pronounced dead on Thursday at Cleveland Clinic after the assault by the Ohio cops.

"They killed my sister," Joell Anderson, Tanesha's 40-year-old brother said, according to countercurrents.com, as he fought back tears. "I watched it." Strangely, the officers had got a call from a family member who felt that the police could calm down Tanesha Anderson, who was in a heavy argument with the family. The police reacted to the "disturbing the peace" situation and came immediately. Everyone agreed that Tanesha should be assessed at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, police sources said.

However, it was followed by a terrible situation, which is described differently by the police as well as family members. One policeman narrated that the woman began to resist them as they drew her toward their police van. When she was handcuffed, Tanesha had just decided to change her mind about the voluntary evaluation.

One of the policemen said that she began to kick and struggle, then after a point she suddenly went limp and her pulse failed. The police just called EMS. However, Tanesha's brother Joell gives a contrary picture. "She was more of a danger to herself than others," he explained. Two officers took her to the police vehicle. She was prescribed medication for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, so she became nervous as she sat in the backseat. Soon she became nervous about the limited space and tried to get out, Anderson said.

As Tanesha called out for her brother and mother, an officer took out a Taser, pressed her head in the backseat with a "Judo" take down move in a "smothering" manner, according to her brother, Joell Anderson. Her head was banged on the concrete, while the officer put his knee on her back. But after that, she never opened her eyes or spoke another word.

Moreover, her sundress was lifted above her waist and remained there even as the officers refused to give her any aid. Joell said that he had to move over and put his jacket to on her naked lower body as the police refused to do it even though he asked them to.

"She was outgoing, silly, always joking," Joell said of his sister. "She just wasn't doing very well that day." The family just had to wait for 20 minutes till the ambulance arrived. Tanesha's sister, Jasmine Johnson has started a Facebook page for her, in which she explains the entire sordid episode. "The officer allowed my sister to lie faced down on the blistering cold ground, handcuffed, for over 20 minutes until the ambulance finally arrived," she writes.

The Cleveland Police Department has clarified that their Division of Police Use of Deadly Force Investigation Team is "investigating" into the episode. None of the policemen who were involved have been either fired, warned, or sent on leave so far.
