Cirque du Soleil's "Michael Jackson ONE" Opens in Las Vegas

Cirque du Soleil's latest production, "Michael Jackson ONE", opened at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on June 29.

The "Michael Jackson ONE" world premiere was attended by Michael Jackson's children, Prince and Blanket, and their grandmother Katherine. Paris was not attendance as she is still recuperating in a hospital in L.A.

Other Jackson family members in attendance were Michael's brothers Jackie, Marlon and Tito.

Hollywood stars and celebrities also graced the event including Neil Patrick Harris, David Arquette, Pharrell William, Ryan Kwanten, Roberto Cavalli, and Spike Lee among others.

"Michael Jackson ONE" is Cirque du Soleil's second creative project with Michael Jackson's estate, with 2011's "Michael Jackson Immortal World Tour" as their first collaboration.

Welby Altidor and Jamie King, the show's creators, were delighted at the opening. ""We wanted to bring the energy of Michael in the show, and so far the response and the resonance from the audience has been amazing," Altidor said. "We hope tonight people will feel that."

The King of Pop makes an appearance in the show through a life-size hologram. His beloved hits such as "Bad", "Strangers in Moscow" and "Smooth Criminal" with the signature Moonwalk are just some of the many astounding performances showcased by the world's famous acrobats.

Marlon, who grew up and performed with Michael, has some reservations about the show but praised the troupe for their incredible performance. "It doesn't fully represent Michael, because Cirque didn't know the real Michael Jackson. He's much more than what they kept. They only know what they can see and what they saw of him. But Cirque did an incredible job," he said.
