Chris Pratt has been getting a lot of questions lately on whether he will follow after Harrison Ford’s footsteps and become the next Indiana Jones. The “Jurassic World” actor was even caught off-guard recently when it was suggested on national TV that he will indeed portray the character.

Chris Pratt once again tried to debunk the on-going rumours that “Jurassic World” producer Steven Spielberg wants to cast him as the next Indiana Jones during a recent guest appearance at Jimmy Kimmel Live. According to Comic Book, the actor got flustered after Jimmy Kimmel surprisingly suddenly asked, “You’re gonna play Indiana Jones next, yes?”

The question apparently cheered the audience but left Chris Pratt speechless. From the video below the actor could be seen chuckling at Jimmy Kimmel’s question while pretending to secretly murmur his answer to the question by covering his mouth.

Apparently, Chris Pratt was not prepared or briefed about the Indiana Jones question. Kimmel could be heard saying “I thought I’d just throw that out there” so he could see how the actor would react. After a long cheer from the audience and after being told by Kimmel that he didn’t really have to answer the question, Pratt finally replied, “I have no answer to it.”

Chris Pratt declined to give a direct yes or no answer but jokingly said that he'd “missed the phone call” from an unknown number. “I hope it wasn’t him (Steven Spielberg),” he added.

This is not the first time the actor had addressed the rumours claiming he will be taking over Harrison Ford as the next Indiana Jones. MTV’s Josh Horowitz also asked the same question during Chis Pratt’s red carpet appearance at the Oscar Awards and again Pratt stayed mum. “It's all nothing 'till it's something, and so far it's not something," he said.

However, the actor admitted that he would be interested to take on the Indiana Jones role. Chris Pratt even said that it’s not overwhelming at all to think about that possibility. But the pressure would reportedly come from having to perfect the portrayal of the character. “The pressure would come because it’s such a great franchise, and you wouldn’t want to get it wrong,” he explained.
