The deal involving Porto striker Jackson Martinez is about to be sealed after his agent was reported to have travelled to England and sort out the terms with Chelsea.

English Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur were also reported to be eyeing the 27-year-old, but the Blues are apparently favourites to secure his signature.

The Colombian international signed with Porto in 2012 from Chiapas FC, which plays in the Mexican Liga MX.

He immediately made an impact in his first season in Portugal, accounting for 26 goals in the Portuguese Liga and 3 in the Champions League.

Reported to cost Chelsea £33million, his stocks keeps on rising as he has already tallied a total of 9 goals in all competitions this year, keeping Porto at the top of the Liga table, while featuring regularly for Colombia.

Meanwhile, his compatriot and Monaco striker Radamel Falcao, who has been rumoured to be interested in moving to Stamford Bridge, is the better choice, if not the best, according to ex-Benfica striker Roland Linz.

"Jackson is good but he can't compare to that [Falcao]. Who can? Falcao is in the top five in the world, if not the best," Linz told The Metro.
