Chaz Bono has been eliminated from US show "Dancing With the Stars" after he and his dance-partner Lacey Schwimmer scored a measly 19 out of 30, the lowest score of the night.

His dancing partner Lacey Schwimmer criticized the D.W.T.S judges for what she perceived to be unfair treatment of Chaz. Cher came to her son's defence on Twitter, slamming judge Bruno for comparing Chaz to a penguin. This wasn't the only criticism aimed at the judges as dancer Maks hit out over the harsh remarks made by the panel regarding his partner's dancing.

Bono's appearance on D.W.T.S. has attracted a lot of publicity, largely because conservative Americans are uneasy with the prospect of a transgender dancing with a female partner. Cher's son has admirably risen above the criticism aimed at his gender and his size and will no doubt be delighted with how far he has made in in the competition.

"I got to dig deeper into myself probably more than I ever have and overcome a lot of fear, pain, anxiety and stress. It's made me a better person." said Bono of his time on the show.

Using D.W.T.S as a vehicle, Chaz Bono has asserted himself as a man after recently undergoing a sex-change. His Mother Cher admitted that she struggled to deal with her son's change at first but has now fully embraced it.
