Charlie Sheen has vowed to find a cure for HIV following his revelation in November of being positive with the disease. The former “Three and a Half Men” star said during a recent interview that he is willing to exhaust all of his resources to find the remedy.

According to the Daily Star, Sheen admitted that he is open to all means just to find a cure for HIV. The actor sounded confident when he said that if “anybody can fight this thing (HIV) and discover a cure, it's me. ”

“I will exhaust every resource available to me. I will sit with every expert. I will move forward until something's revealed,” he further added according to the Daily Star report.

Sheen also admitted that he never contemplated on committing suicide when he learned he was HIV-positive. That thought reportedly never occurred to him even before the diagnosis. In the same interview, he also talked about his decision to keep his condition a secret for many years. According to the Daily Star, the 50-year-old said he had valued his privacy and thought opening up about his HIV would just come at his own pace without being forced to do so by other people’s “greed or folly.”

It was revealed during his interview with Matt Lauer on the Today show back in November that he had already exhausted a lot of his money to pay people off. Lauer mentioned in the video below that Sheen had already spent over $10 million (over AU$13 million).

Sheen was reportedly diagnosed with HIV in 2006, after he and then wife Denise Richards finalised their divorce. During his interview with Lauer, he revealed that he told only Richards and ex-wife Brooke Mueller about his disease in 2011 and no one else.

Learning about his being HIV-positive on live TV was a total shock for all the women he slept with, including his former girlfriend and adult film star Bree Olson. Olson, whom the actor had called as one of his “goddesses,” had called Sheen a “monster” after learning of his HIV.
