“A Current Affair” journalist Ben McCormack was arrested on Thursday for allegations that he carried out sexually explicit conversations and talked about child pornography with another man. The Channel 9 reporter has always been at the centre of controversy. McCormack was arrested after a surprise raid by police on Channel 9’s office at Willoughby in Sydney yesterday.

The Sex Crime Squad’s internet porn specialists of New South Wales investigated the case and allegedly found an unnamed man “engaged in sexually explicit conversations about children with an adult male and discussed child pornography.” The team also searched McCormack’s home in Alexandria and took control of his electronic equipment including computers, a mobile phone and electronic storage devices.

McCormack is due to appear in court on May 1. He is currently not allowed to use the internet for purposes except work. He is not allowed to access social media and is forbidden to meet or communicate with any person under the age of 16 other than his family. He is forbidden to go to playgrounds, schools and other areas often visited by children.

McCormack is a 42-year-old journalist who worked with Channel 9 for 25 years. The latest reveal has been exclusively made by Mail Online Australia, alleging that in 2001, McCormack directed a “sick gay incest film” depicting a father involved in a sex act on his adult son. The website says the journalist also penned the script of a five-minute film about a young man who visits a gay bath house in Brisbane.

Titled “Family Outing,” the film shows a young man entering the gay club/bath house and apparently opts for an anonymous pleasuring service only to later find out that the sex act was performed on him by his father. The website has screenshots of the movie. On the same page, the name of McCormack is listed as the director.

The disgraced reporter made headlines in 2010 when he chased down “Hey Dad!” star Robert Hughes to Singapore and alleged that he molested Sarah Monahan, who played his daughter in the TV show. Hughes denied the allegations.

The reporter was also in news for another controversial revelation in 2016 called “Resort Roxy,” where he alleged that PR queen Roxy Jacenko is spending her time in a $7,000-a-night luxury hotel after her husband was sentenced to jail for insider trading. These allegations also turned out to be untrue when Jacenko posted a picture of herself working in her office.
