Just when consumers think that Chromebooks are just small laptops, Acer breaks the monotony as it decided to come up with a bigger and faster version of the more affordable laptop breed. The new Acer laptop is definitely the first of its size in the industry. It is also the first Chromebook to be equipped with Intel's latest processor design called Broadwell, which is mainly designed for ultra-thin laptops and hybrid laptops and tablets.

The Acer Chromebook 15 is available in two versions: the first one with a full HD 1080p screen and the other variant sporting a screen with 1366x768 resolution. According to Techno Buffalo, the latter version having a slightly low resolution could entice the market with a more affordable cost of US$250. The Chromebook 15 is powered by a fifth generation Intel chip and is able to withstand 8 hours of performance.

The Chromebook 15 will be available in the following specifications: either a 16GB or 32GB solid state hard drive or either 2GB or 4GB of RAM. According to Jerry Kao, president of Acer's Notebook Business Group, the company has been leading the Chromebook market by offering the latest in technology by improving the battery life and by providing form factors with interesting designs. Kao also mentions that Chromebook guarantees fast performance partnered with its large display making it a true powerhouse.

On the other hand, Acer is also launching the Aspire V 17 Nitro notebook with Intel RealSense 3D cameras at the 2015 CES event. Based on Tech Times' review, the new gaming laptop comes with a 17.3-inch Full HD display and is powered by quad-core Intel i7 CPU plus Nvidia GeForce GPU. The V 17 is also supported with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. Consumers will also find the Blu-ray player in the laptop very interesting.

Finally, Chromebooks are best for consumers who are into Google's ecosystem and for those who spends much time browsing the internet. The new Acer Chromebooks and the Aspire V 17 Nitro notebook will be showcased from Jan.6-9 at one of the biggest tech event this year.
