Céline Dion, who sang “My Heart Will Go On” for "Titanic," was supposed to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, but unfortunately, just like many A-list celebrities, the popular Canadian singer refused the proposal.

According to The Wrap, Las Vegas-based hotelier Steve Wynn had promised Trump that he would bring Dion on board for the inauguration function. It seems that he has failed to deliver, though.

Rumours are rife that Celine Dion has refused to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration not because she is anti-Trump, but because of her prior engagements. The singer is booked to perform in Vegas the same night, and hence, she does not want to upset her fans by cancelling the event. It is said that Dion has postponed many events in the past as well, following her husband Rene Angelil’s death. She even skipped the Oscars.

This is not the first time that a celebrity has refused to participate in the inaugural function. Sir Elton John, country star Garth Brooks as well as opera singer Andrea Bocelli are among the A-list stars who had earlier turned down the offer. Trump is reportedly annoyed by the rejection.

As of now, the only performance confirmed for Donald Trump’s inauguration includes Jackie Evancho, 16-year-old “America’s Got Talent” contestant. Evancho will reportedly play “Make America Great! Welcome Celebration." Furthermore, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has revealed that The Mormon Tabernacle Choir will also sing.

Chairman of the Presidential Inaugural Committee Tom Barrack earlier admitted in an interview that no one was willing to play at the inauguration. “Does he need the celebrities and want the celebrities? Of course. But they’re all going to weigh in when they find the judiciousness of the man [once he’s in office],” Barrack told CNBC TV.
