British singer Yusuf Islam, popularly as Cat Stevens, will return to Australia this year. The singer is celebrating the 50th anniversary of his first hit single and debut album “Matthew & Son.” The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee has announced that he will be in Australia in November and December as part of his “Peace Train Tour.”

During his Aussie tour, Stevens plans to cover Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Hunter Valley, Sydney and finish with Brisbane. His first visit to Australia was way back in 1974 then in 2010. Stevens, 68, who received the Man of Peace award in 2004, has released his 14th studio album “Tell ‘Em I’m Gone.” According to his official website, the singer is expected to play his new songs from the album on this tour along with his hit old classics.

The singer also told The Project (via Mail Online) that he is a completely different person from when he first visited Australia in the 70s. “Perhaps I have got a little bit more used to talking in between songs now. I could never put two words together when I was touring in the old days. Now it seems to flow easily,” he said.

Stevens, who is also a humanitarian, has a charity called Small Kindness that helps orphans. He also plans to use his music to help Syrian refugees. “I just wrote a song and tried to bring people back to the heart of the problem, which is a human being is suffering and we have to help,” he said. He even narrated an incident where he sang a song for a refugee boy during one of his concerts.

“I did a concert in London about the refugee problem. I just concentrated on one little boy. Just one little soul. Every one of those refugees is a human being. It gets lost in the swamp of the media,” he said. Apart from his charity, Stevens is also writing a children’s animation series. Meanwhile, check out all of his upcoming Australian tour dates, below, according to his official website.
