“Castle” Season 7 is now down to its final four episodes. Season 8 has not been set in stone even after Nathan Fillion himself signed a new deal. Meanwhile, Stana Katic caps her Instagram series on behind-the-scenes (BTS) “Castle” photos, saying she will go “radio silent” without commenting on her contract.

“Castle” Season 7 airs a new episode on Monday, April 20, on ABC. This week’s new episode (Castle 7x20) is called “Sleeper.” It marks the return of the fake Henry Jenkins, portrayed by Matt Letscher. From this episode, viewers will learn more about Rick Castle’s (Nathan Fillion) 2-month disappearance.

On Instagram, Stana Katic leaves fans with 24 BTS photos before going “radio silent.” Katic also talks about her character, Kate Beckett, and gives teasers about the “Castle” Season 7 finale.

“What you’ve watched and the characters you’ve fallen in love with never would’ve happened if not for Castle’s creator Andrew Marlowe,” Katic captions her 23rd “Castle” BTS photo – a picture of herself with Marlowe and his wife -- and “Castle” executive producer -- Terri Edda Miller.

“Andrew and Terri wrote the finale. One of my favorite Beckett moments ever is in this episode,” Katic continues in the caption. “Castle” Season 7 is titled, “Hollander’s Woods.”

Katic’s 24th and final “Castle” Season 7 BTS photo is another picture of herself with Andrew Marlowe, this time with director Rob Bowman, who directed some of the most action-packed episodes of the series.

“Before I go radio silent, I want to single out these two: Rob Bowman and Andrew Marlowe… What an incredible creative collaboration,” Katic captions the BTS photo, hinting that Bowman may have directed the Season 7 finale.

Katic’s 24 BTS photos on Instagram is a fulfillment of a promise she made on Twitter, about celebrating the filming of the last two episodes of “Castle” Season 7. The last photo represents her last day of filming.

For his part, Marlowe told TV Guide the “Castle” Season 7 finale may not be a “traditional cliffhanger.” However, the avid viewers would see “very specific unresolved issues about [Castle and Beckett] that will allow us a fascinating springboard into a next season.”

"We're very hopeful that we'll be coming back... as the show that everybody knows and loves,” Marlowe told TV Guide, while also noting that “(w)riting a season finale, [unsure about a renewal], is always a challenge.”

There has been no update on whether or not Stana Katic is keen on signing a contract in case ABC picks up “Castle” for an eighth season, but the “Castle” that “everyone knows” definitely involves Kate Beckett.
