Stana Katic is leaving 'Castle'

Castle Season 7, Episode 1 airs in a month's time on ABC. The network has released a teaser showing Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) inspecting Rick Castle's (Nathan Fillion) still-blazing car wreck. At the end of Castle Season 7, it is revealed that a mysterious vehicle is tailing Rick Castle as he makes his way to his wedding with Beckett at the Hamptons. The last thing that viewers see is a stunned Beckett seeing his groom's car off the road, and on fire.

Rick Castle has vanished, the Castle Season 7 teaser clip reveals. Stana Katic's Beckett finds this out first-hand; her groom is not in the car wreck. This small but significant scene sets things in motion for Detective Beckett. She is expected to leave no stones unturned until she locates her missing groom.

Castle creator Andrew Marlowe and new series showrunner David Amann have said earlier the viewers are in for a new mythology in the series. Castle Season 7 spoilers hint at a more exposed, more explored Rick Castle.

In an interview done at the time of the San Diego Comic-Con 2014, Nathan Fillion wondered about the long wait for a Caskett wedding. Marlowe and Amann are telling fans to be more patient and trust them in the Caskett ride.

"He's not in the car," Beckett yells to the police and everyone else at the scene. She is drenched for getting in the way of the fireman's way, and this is the only character's line in the Castle Season 7 premiere teaser.

"The search is on for Castle," says the promo voice-over.

Castle Season 7, Episode 1 is directed by Rob Bowman, who is known by fans of the show for his action-packed and gritty storytelling. David Amann wrote the script that launches him at the helm of the show. Reports say Marlowe remains an integral part of production, only Amann is taking a well-deserved promotion.
