Episode 20 of “Castle” Season 7 (7x20) is titled “Sleeper.” The voice over in the promo video says, “it is time to find out” what happened when Castle disappeared on his wedding day. Matt Letscher returns in the next new episode to reprise his fake Jenkins character.

A new episode synopsis from ABC indicates Rick Castle and Kate Beckett are pushed by Castle’s recurring dreams to dig deeper into his disappearance mystery. Their investigation, however, has “deadly consequences.”

Mackenzie Astin, who played Noah in ABC’s “Scandal,” is also in the next “Castle” Season 7 episode. He’s playing Phillip Bartlett. Michael Dorn of “Star Trek” is also guest starring, portraying the role of Dr. Carter Burke.

Series creator Andrew W. Marlowe and lead showrunner David Amann have earlier hinted at the exposition of disappearance mystery later in the season. “Castle” Season 7 is reportedly comprised of 23 episodes. This implies the series is on its final stretch by Apr. 20.

Episode 20 of “Castle” Season 7 airs Apr. 20 was written by Amann and directed by Paul Holahan. When a show boss in Amann’s level takes charge of an episode, the fans are almost certain they are in for one big episode that may contain shockers.

Holahan also directed “The Wrong Stuff” (Castle 7x16) and the episode in which Castle and Beckett finally get married: “The Time of Our Lives” (Castle 7x6). The latter was written by Marlowe and his wife (also a “Castle” producer), Terri Miller.

“I just wanna understand,” Katic’s Beckett is heard saying in the Castle 7x20 promo video. In the same ABC clip, Fillion’s Castle is seen speaking to someone, saying that every day, he wonders about what happened to him when he disappeared.
