Tennis star Caroline Wozniacki had to kiss her lucrative underwear deal goodbye. Wozniacki reportedly lost one of her significant endorsement deals with Danish company JBS due to the success that Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has received in his own underwear range.

JBS initially launched Wozniacki as its endorser in 2012. A year later, Ronaldo has signed up with the Danish company for his CR7 underwear range. As such, Ronaldo has earned huge success, which is why JBS has decided to terminate its deal with the former World No. 1 tennis athlete.

JBS Director Morten Alstrup told Danish news outlet Ekstra Bladet that Ronaldo's collaboration with their company would not have been possible if it weren't for Wozniacki. Alstrup said that Wozniacki is one of the reasons why they signed Ronaldo, who apparently asked the company if they were interested in doing collaboration with him.

With Ronaldo's CR7 underwear range, the sales volume of JBS has doubled to 400 million kr. Previously, JBS only sold to six countries, but after signing Ronaldo, the company now distributes their products to 55 countries.

"We had hoped to grab a market, but CR7 has been far, far greater than we dared dream of," Alstrup said. "So it is best for the company to stop Caroline Wozniacki, who has been very locked in the agreement she has with Adidas."

Building on the success of his CR7 underwear range that features briefs, trunks, American boxers and long johns, in addition to fashionable men's and boys' socks, Ronaldo has advanced into producing a premium shirt line with JBS and in collaboration with fashion designer Richard Chai, who was also the guru behind his undergarments collection.

Meanwhile, Wozniacki is in Auckland for the Women's Tennis Association, or WTA, international tennis event ASB Classic. Wozniacki, who is the number one seed, will face 154th-ranked qualifier Julia Glushko of Israel on Jan. 6. Another big draw card will take place on the same day including 2014 runner-up Venus Williams, who will play against Slovakian Jana Cepelova. New Zealand native 26-year-old Marina Erakovic begins her singles campaign against doubles partner Monica Puig.
