Cara Delevingne said Rihanna had been a great help to her acting career. Riri offered her some wise words when Cara felt let down by the acting industry.

In an interview with WSJ, Cara named Rihanna as her go-to person when she felt down with the Hollywood industry. The supermodel is currently transitioning into a full-fledged actress but the transition was rocky at first. She said she felt really bad when she lost a part in a “Beach Boys” film, which ended not up not pushing through.

Cara said the disappointment she felt was greater than when she lost a job in the modelling world. She explained that she was literally heartbroken with the turn of the events because she had grown attached to the role. When it comes to modelling she said, it is easier to accept losing a job to other models because she knows it is natural that there are other greater models out there. However, with movies, she can get attach to a role, something she does not feel when it comes to a modelling job.

The model turned actress shared that she got over the disappointment through pal Rihanna. She explained that feeling distraught, she called up Rihanna, who immediately offered wise words to her and made her feel better. Rihanna told her that “everything happens for a reason,” and that losing the role just meant something greater is slated for her. Rihanna even said Cara would call her in a week or two to share a big news and say Rihanna had been right. Cara detailed that soon after that advice, she did indeed got something bigger. She got the starring role for Paper Towns,” a film adapted from John Green’s book of the same title, partly because she was recommended by a producer involved with the “Beach Boys” project.

Cara is really serious about her acting career. Recently, she told Entertainment Weekly that her goal is to become a “Meryl Streep” or an “Angelina Jolie.” Green himself said that if there is one thing people should see in “Paper Towns,” it is how great of an actress Cara is. Green described her as a “firecracker.”
