Capcom has finally confirmed Laura will join “Street Fighter V” after Famitsu’s accidental reveal of the Brazilian character last week. A gameplay video sees Laura battle against “Street Fighter” mainstay Ken, revealing her set of moves and skills.

As speculated, Laura will utilise Jiu-Jitsu during her battles in “Street Fighter V.” Laura uses a combination of quick rush attacks partnered with several grab moves which should look familiar to actual jiu-jitsu practitioners.

Based on the gameplay trailer seen below, Laura appears to be a character that is played aggressively. She is a dangerous foe at close range because of her grabs, but she is equally dangerous from afar as she can close distances very quickly.

Like her fellow Brazilian fighter Blanka, Laura also has hints of electrical charges in her attacks. She is even seen throwing a slow moving electrical projectile at Ken. It’s very slow compared to other projectile attacks in the game so this move could be used more as a distraction to opponents so Laura can get up close. She also takes up a similar move of Blanka, as she is seen rolling upwards with a hold on the enemy.

The gameplay video did not reveal the V-Skill and V-Trigger of Laura, but. It could come in the following days along with a short background on the newcomer.

Laura is the first of two Brazilian characters revealed in the game, VG247 reports. Since she is the last of the newcomers for “Street Fighter V,” the other Brazilian character should be a familiar face. In fact, Blanka is the only Brazilian character left in the series so fans could expect his reveal anytime soon.

“Street Fighter V” launches for the PC and PlayStation 4 sometime next year. Players could get a feel of the game with a second beta period coming soon.
