Capcom recently released a gameplay footage of the upcoming team-based shooter “Umbrella Corps.” The spin-off takes the lore of “Resident Evil” by featuring special ops soldiers and zombies, but the game itself is far from what “Resident Evil” fans are used to.

The footage shows a round of One Life Match, which pits two teams of three in a team-based deathmatch with no respawns. There is a three-minute time limit instead, Polygon reports. The video also shows off some of the usable gadgets in the game, one of which is a melee weapon called a Brainer Axe.

In the gameplay, players are shown battling against each other as zombies remain rampant in the arena. Initially, the zombies are idle and won’t attack the players. However, if the players destroy the opposing team’s jammer placed on the back side of the characters, the zombies will begin attacking that player. The goal of both teams is to wipe out the other. They could either kill others, or they could opt to destroy the jammer and let the zombies do the rest of the work.

The game will also feature the basic mechanics in a shooter including wall covers, crouching and crawling. It will also have a unique feature which allows players to open shutters. The footage shows that opening shutters are a crucial part of the game. While opening a shutter, a teammate could crouch to shoot through the door while it’s being opened. The game looks to make use of tactical planning and teamwork.

The upcoming shooter looks like an impressive title but what fans are looking forward to is the next installment in the main series of “Resident Evil.” Producer Masachika Kawata said that the company is not yet allowed to release a statement on “Resident Evil 7,” Siliconera reports. However, he noted that fans should stay tuned for news regarding the title.
