Candace Cameron Bure and Raven Symone got into a heated debate on national TV when both cannot see eye to eye on the issue of Christian bakers refusing to associate their business with a same-sex couple's wedding. Bure clarified her stance on the matter.

Even though Bure and Symone got into a debate on "The View" because they cannot see eye to eye on the issue of Christian bakers refusing to provide a lesbian couple a wedding cake, Bure clarified there is no bad blood between her and the former Disney star. The actress shared she was not necessarily debating about same-sex marriage but about the rights of all people, including conservative ones. Speaking with The Blaze, a known conservative website, Bure said she was not there to pit gay marriages against straight marriages. She was there to talk about the rights of the bakers, which she felt was violated by the Court’s decision to fine them because they would not grant a lesbian couple’s wish for the bakers to make their wedding cake. “It was about these bakers and their religious freedoms and the freedom of association,” Bure said.

The said bakers are Arron and Melissa Klein from Sweet Cakes by Melissa. When a lesbian couple (Rachel and Laurel Bowman-Cryer) approached them for a wedding cake earlier this month, the bakers did not give in to the couple. The lesbian couple took the case to court for the "emotional anguish" they suffered from this rejection and it was ruled that the bakers should pay the couple $135,000.

During Tuesday’s show, Symone sided with the couple and said the bakers’ rejection can be likened to the historic discrimination that African Americans received. Bure, on the other hand, saw the situation differently and said that people under the First Amendment rights still have the “right to choose who they associate with.”

Bure also told The Blaze her stance was one of love and not of hate. She said she was just being “factual about things.” As for bad blood between her and Symome, she said there was none. They even hugged during the commercial break. She said her gay friends even understood her position, texting her that they loved how she stood for her opinion. Bure said everyone should just learn to agree to disagree through respectful conservations.
