“Call of Duty Infinite Warfare” may finally be getting its hype following a troubled start. But as far as earnings is concerned, it seems that last year’s “Call of Duty Black Ops 3” has set quite the bar to beat.

During Activision Blizzard’s quarterly earnings report (via GameSpot), the company reiterated that Treyarch’s recent title remains to be among the top-selling titles for the current-gen consoles.

It had been included as one of the strongest games for last year. As per the source, it had even topped the likes of “Call of Duty Advanced Warfare,” particularly in areas of engagement, active users and even base game and in-game content sales.

Whether or not “Call of Duty Infinite Warfare” can top these figures remain to be seen. The high volume of preorders and steady appreciation for newly released trailers may be a good start.

Players may also be able to expect quite the wild ride for “Call of Duty Infinite Warfare.” In a preview interview with DualShockers, John Marshall Jones, who plays the role of Admiral Raines in the game, shared his experience for the role.

According to Jones, his role holds the highest rank as an officer in “Call of Duty Infinite Warfare.” However, he is not the highest ranking officer in the Navy or Air Forces. Because of this, he acts as a sort of bridge between the higher officers and the player’s protagonist, Captain Reyes.

“Raines is kind of a mentor, and also he’s also a guide throughout the game, so you’re getting your missions from him but he’s also kind of there to make sure that you’re making the moral choices and understanding the moral choices that you have to make in order to make it through this game,” said Jones to DualShockers.

Jones also shared that playing “Call of Duty Infinite Warfare” was a fun experience. Perhaps part of this has something to do with the fact that the game offers more than just a shooter experience. It also holds a level of emotion that will make every decision and character event have more weight.

“Call of Duty Infinite Warfare” is coming to the PC, PS4 and Xbox One on Nov 4.
