Then Bruce Jenner wanted to be a woman way back in the 1980s and attempted to do that by having silicone implants on his chest. He was already an enviable 36B but had it removed when he met Kris Kardashian who eventually became his wife, and they had two daughters, reality stars Kylie and Kendall Jenner.

The first attempt at gender transition, revealed in a newly released film clip, was repeated in 2015 when Jenner rocked the world of reality TV by finally admitting his transition to a woman. The big breasts were the result of hormones the former athlete was receiving when he was in his late 30s, reports the New York Daily News.

“I actually had my boobs removed, I never told anyone that,” the daily quotes Jenner’s revelation ed at the Maker’s Conference on Tuesday in California. Part of the clip was also broadcast the same day on the “Today” show, while the whole Jenner disclosure would be seen on E! when the second season of “I Am Cait!” premieres on March 6.

The new clip confirmed that Kris was aware of his gender crisis because they even agreed that at home, he would not dress up like a woman. However, stepdaughter and reality star Kim Kardashian discovered his secret on day when she saw him dolled up in their garage.

Caitlyn Jenner says, “I was very honest with her … I had to be, I was a 36B. Everything’s really heading in the right direction and I made this decision to move on with my life. Kris and I together with this family.”

Like Caitlyn in the 1980s, thousands of women are now having their breast implants removed, but for a different reason than Jenner’s. Fox cites a report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons that in 2015, almost 24,000 American women, aged 30 to 54, underwent explants procedure. The rise of such procedures by 10 percent in 2014 from 2010 was accompanied by a 3 percent decline of those having implants.

Other celebrities who have openly sharing undergoing explants procedure include Victoria Beckham, Melissa Gilbert, Heidi Montag and Sharon Osbourne. Among the reasons why they had their implants removed are the maintenance required by the implants, the cost of health issues caused by the silicone, inconvenience and changing body ideals as the attention shifted from the breast to the buttocks.
