Caitlyn Jenner has broken her silence about being the butt of Ricky Gervais' jokes during his opening monologue at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards, which took place on Jan. 10. Rather than turn it into a massive celebrity feud, Caitlyn has decided to try to turn the jokes into an opportunity.

"I think what I'm gonna do is call the Golden Globes and see if they need a new host for next year, and we'll solve that problem,” said Jenner. According to People, she made the statement after being asked about the incident at the TCA panel last Thursday. She was there to promote the second season of her reality show, “I Am Cait.”

Jenner offered her services, instead of hitting back with a hateful comment. After all, she has a lot of experience dealing with media diplomacy - She has been speaking to the press since her heyday as America’s favorite athlete back in the 70’s.

Gervais also addressed the criticism, and stood by his decision to make the joke. He took to twitter and said:

Gervais was hit with criticism after he opened the Golden Globes Awards with a monologue that included a jab at Jenner.

"I've changed. Not as much as Bruce Jenner, obviously – now Caitlyn Jenner, of course. What a year she's had. She became a role model for trans people everywhere,” he had said.

Things seemed positive, until he threw a jab in connection ith Jenner’s controversial 2015 car crash, which took the life of one woman.

"She didn't do a lot for women drivers, but you can't have everything," he said.
