A teen “menimist” from the UK has started a GoFundMe page in a bid to educate women about their menstruation. Ryan Williams, 19, decided to “Stop the Blob,” saying women should just “control their bladders” when they have their period.

The photography student from Essex has launched a highly dubious rant on social media about why tampons shouldn’t be free. He claimed that it’s the women’s problem if they couldn’t control their bladder, not the taxpayers’.

His tweets include (all sic):

“Tampons should not be free, why does everyone keep saying they should be?? if u can’t control ur bladder then that’s not taxpayers problem!”

“pay for ur own tampons if you can’t hold it until u get to a toilet. I don’t urinate everywhere and expect free nappies #selfcontrol.”

“and just for the record, I don’t think condoms should be free either... close ur legs and hold your bladder, end of discussion)”

Williams appears to be confused in several things, including the difference between the female reproductive system and the bladder, as well as what women are asking for regarding sanitary pads and tampons.

In the UK and Australia, menstrual products are taxed, which women believe is unfair and thus want the Tampon Tax to be abolished. They are asking for tax-free sanitary products, not to make the products free.

Williams also claimed on Twitter that he castrated his toy poodle “when she was a puppy to stop the periods and to prevent any aggression PMT would give her.” And for his critics, if their bladder is too weak, “which clearly it is for most of you,” then they should see a doctor and have the same procedure.

Taking his rants further, Williams also has reportedly set up a GoFundMe page, titled “Stop the Blob,” in the hopes of raising £ 1,000 (AU$1,600) to fund his biology lessons after he was ridiculed on social media.

“Help enable me, a young adult politics expert and brexit campaigner be able to afford to have Biology lessons. The money raised will be used to pay for lessons, however many is needed to be able to explain to understand more about womens periods, why they get so aggressive and why they’re so lazy as to hold their bladder,” (sic) the page blurb reads (via Mirror).

His page could have already been deleted as it is nowhere to be found on GoFundMe website.

Twitter users were quick to call out Williams on his lack of knowledge about feminine, and even canine, anatomy.

According to Williams, he was incensed that women were saying tampons shouldn’t be taxed because they were a necessity.

“If they are going to bleed, then they should wait until they get to the toilet. It’s all about self-control,” he was quoted by Mirror as saying. He had set up a poll to find out how many people would support him. And to his surprise, only 13 percent agree that women should “hold their bladders.”

“Some people have started comparing me to Donald Trump but there is absolutely no comparison – to Zac Efron, yes, but not to Donald Trump.”

Like the UK, Australia still has Tampon Tax even though the Labor Party had vowed to remove the Goods and Services Tax applied to tampons and other sanitary products last year. In June, Bill Shorten admitted he couldn’t make the tax disappear.
