A chronicle news reporter recently featured a behind-the-scenes look in MetalDetector.com, the first online retailer of Metal Detectors. MetalDetector.com is located at Southborough, Massachusetts and has been around for 30 years. It is currently being managed by brothers Michael and Daniel Berznweig.

Metal detecting is something that people could enjoy regardless if it is just a hobby or a serious treasure hunter. Michael Bernweig explained that customers often share their experience when using their products stating that "some of our customers have struck it rich, while others have simply discovered a pastime that provides relaxation, excitement and exercise."

Chronicles staff says, "It's not the most scenic highway in New England. And if you zip along Route 9, you might think it's all strip malls and fast food. But slow down and you'll find a whole lot more: an international business success, musical treasures, and a couple of guys staking their future on finding lost money."

While the focus of this segment was on their local store, the company ships worldwide from their warehouse at this location. Daniel Bernzweig said "We are happy that we can help new people get in to the hobby, both locally and from a distance, with the resources we make available through our MetalDetector.com Learning Library. Bernzweig went on to say, "Our online learning library features buying guides, field tests and reviews, instruction manuals, product catalogs and treasure videos on metal detectors."

Michael and Daniel gave Chronicle a sneak peak at some of the most unique and popular metal detectors that they offer. In the warehouse tour, all of the top metal detector brands were seen including Tesoro, Minelab, Garrett, Teknetics, DetectorPro, Fisher Labs, JW Fishers and Treasure Products. They revealed the new XP Deus metal detector from France, the world's first completely wireless metal detector. Next they demonstrated the Bounty Hunter Legacy 1500 metal detector. At well under $150, this model is a great choice for those getting started on a budget. The Minelab Excalibur II underwater metal detector is perfect for snorkeling or diving for treasure. The Makro JeoHunter 3D Dual system is a top of the line model for those looking for deep treasure caches. Finally the Bounty Hunter Platinum was shown. This model is a top selling detector with advanced features for less than $400.

Chronicle discovered that the entire MetalDetector.com team is dedicated to delivering on the original ideals that founders Sondra and David Bernzweig established nearly thirty years ago. Even as the business has grown, the brothers understand that the key to their future success is tied to holding true to their parents' original vision. Sondra and David treated every customer like family. They were passionate about helping their customers enjoy the hobby. Building on this philosophy, Michael and Daniel have brought aboard the best people, products, technologies and procedures to allow their team to deliver on that promise, one customer at a time.
