Veteran actress-singer Bette Midler laughed off her Twitter feud with the stylish young performer Lady Gaga, when she recently accused the "Poker Face" singer of copying her mermaid-in-a-wheelchair act during one show in Australia.

When Lady Gaga tried this move at a recent concert in Australia, it pushed Midler to log into her Twitter site to tell her fans and supporters that she was the one who made that original concert gimmick in the 1980s.

See Bette Midler's mermaid in a wheelchair act as Delores DeLago:

"..you can keep the meat dress and the firecracker tits - mermaid's mine," Midler said in her tweet. Gaga did not respond to any of the tweets and just decided to settle the matter quietly before it blew up.

Here's the 'You and I' performance of Lady Gaga as a mermaid in a wheelchair too:

Midler told reporters it was a very interesting feud and admitted she is no expert tweeter. "I wasn't irked at all! I thought it was hilarious. I was actually very flattered, and then we sort of put it to rest," she added.
