“Sugar” Shane Mosley believes that the best big fight to make is the pairing between Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines and Amir Khan of the United Kingdom. The former champion also said that Viktor Postol of Ukraine could be another fighter that could be a good match-up for Pacquiao.

“Pacquiao vs Khan might be the best fight out there right now, but I was at the Postol vs Matthysse fight and he’s [Postol] tall, rangy and could probably cause anyone problems,” Mosley said to World Boxing News.

Both Khan and Postol are among the top contenders in their respective divisions. The British boxer is ranked No. 3 in the welterweight division, or the 147-pound limit while the Ukrainian pro is ranked No. 1 in the junior welterweight division, or the 140-pound limit, in Ring Magazine’s rankings.

Khan appears to be the frontrunner as Pacquiao’s opponent with Arum admitting that they have had talks with the British boxers’ camp in recent weeks although nothing is concrete at this point of the negotiations. Khan has won his last five bouts after losing back-to-back fights in 2011 and 2012.

Postol is undefeated in 28 career bouts and coming off an impressive win over Lucas Matthysse last Oct. 10 via a 10th round knockout victory. Matthysse is also one of the fighters being discussed as one of Pacquiao’s opponents in early 2016.

In the past week, there were rumours that a Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather rematch is being discussed although this was immediately shot down by Top Rank Promotions head Bob Arum, saying he has not heard word from the American’s camp about returning from retirement. Mayweather beat Andre Berto in early September to remain undefeated in his career.

Mayweather officially announced his retirement after that fight but the American has a history of reneging on his word when he returned to the ring after initially retiring in 2008.

Mosley fought Pacquiao in 2011 when the American lost via a 12-round unanimous decision.
