Floyd Mayweather Sr. hinted in a recent interview their strategy for his son’s fight against Manny Pacquiao in May in Las Vegas. The veteran boxing trainer and former boxer stated that they are going to attack Pacquiao on the body where they hope to land some “real damage” during the highly-anticipated Mayweather-Pacquiao.

“I ain’t gonna say where he gonna hit Pacquiao at but wherever he hit him, we’re planning on doing great bodily harm. Definitely some real damage,” Mayweather Sr. said to theboxingvoice.com. “I ain’t gonna speak on what I think it’s gonna be; I’m just gonna say that some things that… more than likely he gonna get hit with some real good things… And he might retreat. When I say ‘retreat,’ he might take a knee and then say ‘Don’t want no mo’… over.”

Mayweather Sr. also stated that he’s not convinced with Pacquiao’s quality of wins particularly against Mexico’s Juan Manuel Marquez, whom the Filipino met four times in his career and who dealt the Filipino a devastating knockout in their last meeting. In that Dec. 12, 2012 bout, Marquez caught Pacquiao with a powerful right hook that sent the Filipino to the canvass and the worst loss of his career. In turn, Mayweather dominated Marquez in their fight on Sept. 19, 2009 winning via unanimous decision with judges’ scores of 120-107, 119-108 and 118-109 all for the undefeated American.

It’s not the first time that Mayweather Sr. has predicted an easy outing for his son against Pacquiao in their big bout in May and even Mayweather Jr. said in the only press conference for the fight that losing should be in Pacquiao’s mind while he has not experienced struggling with any defeat. Mayweather Jr. is undefeated in 47 pro boxing career bouts while Pacquiao has 57 wins against 5 losses and 2 draws.

Meanwhile, both Mayweather and Pacquiao are still in their training camps preparing for the May fight. The Mayweather-Pacquiao bout is being called the “Fight of the Century” and will happen on May 2, 2015 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
