“Bones” Season 11, Episode 19 (“The Head in the Abutment”) airs on Fox on Thursday, June 16. There is no new episode this week. Bones 11x19 features FBI Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) playing hockey, as real-life National Hockey League player Jeremy Roenick guest stars as himself. Meanwhile, squintern of the week Oliver Wells (Brian Klugman) and Jack Hodgins (TJ Thyne) fly in a severed head into the Jeffersonian – using drones.
Spoiler alert: This update contains “Bones” Season 11 spoilers. There are only four episodes left this season, including Bones 11x19. The season finale will reportedly air on July 21. Season 12 has been confirmed as its last season, which will come in 12 episodes.
In the previous episode of “Bones” Season 11, Seeley Booth, Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel), and the rest of the characters paid homage to deceased characters Sweets, Zac and Vincent in a documentary-style special. In the next episode, Booth revisits his love for hockey. He even meets Jeremy Roenick in the middle of an FBI investigation.
“The team investigates the death of a popular professional hockey player whose headless corpse was dumped in the river. As Booth and Aubrey question the player's coach (guest star Jeremy Roenick as himself), Booth's depth of hockey knowledge is integral to solving the case,” reads the Fox episode synopsis of “Bones” Season 11, Episode 19. The synopsis also mentioned Booth will face-off with an old rival on the ice.
At the Jeffersonian, Wells and Hodgins are thrilled at the prospect of using two drones to find a murder victim’s severed head. Driven by their competitive nature, the science doctors manage a first in the show’s history: a severed head is flown into the lab. Watch a video clip of how it happens below.
