The 23 sequel of James Bond series has been reported eyeing India as its location to shoot sequences, a second time for the series since 1983’s ‘Octopussy’.

The James Bond Franchise in the 1980s filmed in India’s Agra and Udaipur for the sequel, starring Roger Moore. The 1983 James Bond series also featured Indian actor, Kabir Bedi and popular tennis star, Vijay Amritraj.

India’s local media said The Hollywood Reporter, has been reporting that Bond 23 director, Sam Mendes was spotted touring a couple of cities last month.

“(Bond 23) Director Sam Mendes recently made a hush-hush visit to Mumbai along with production designer Terry Bamber in mid-April for the film's recce. The movie will be shot in Mumbai and Goa during the monsoon season on a month-long schedule,” The Hollywood Reporter quoted an unidentified source as saying citing India’s Mid-Day newspaper.

This is not the first time that town of Goa, India was featured in a film. The western resort was also used to film the car chase sequence in “The Bourne Supremacy’ (2004).

Still citing the report from India’s local media, THR said that the Mumbai-based India Take One Productions has been named to handl Bond 23’s line production. Take One also worked on Danny Boyle’s ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and Ang Lee's ‘Life Of Pi’.

Mumbai however has been the location for the second unit shoots for Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’.

THR noted that there has been no confirmation on any plans for film production in India from EON Productions, the producer of the next Bond film.
