Doctors treating Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has said that he will be able to resume his shooting after four-weeks of bed rest. The popular actor is currently under observation at Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai and is expected to be discharged in a couple of days.

The actor had undergone a minor brain surgery for subdural hematoma on Sunday. Sussanne Roshan, the actor's wife, and his parents were present throughout the surgery. "Thank you for all your love and concern, Hrithik has come out of the surgery stronger than ever before. Gratitude and love to all of you for all your good wishes and prayers for him," Sussanne said in a statement as cited in The Indian Express.

"Hrithik Roshan was performing stunts for his upcoming film Bang Bang two months ago and he suffered an injury on his head. He started developing pain and hence he started taking pain killers but they wouldn't work. So, he went for a CT scan in May end. Later it was found that there was a clot in the brain," Dr VK Mishra, who is treating him, told reporters.

Rakesh Roshan, the actor's father, told the press that for the movie Bang Bang, which is a remake of Hollywood movie 'Knight and Day', the actor was performing a stunt and he had to "put a jet on his feet and go 30 feet high in the sky and then dive down in the water."

During rehearsal, the actor fell down on the wrong side and banged his head a bit. Mr Roshan said, "That started his pain and he started taking pain killers, thinking it will get fine in three to four days because something similar had happened during Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (debut movie) also."

Dr P P Ashok, head of neurology at Hinduja Hospital, told NDTV, that the actor had an "impact on the left skull, which, while it did not result in skull fracture or bleeding, might have produced a small tear in one of the veins."

"Blood started oozing out of it slowly, and since it could not come out, it started pushing the brain inside, leading to weakness on his right arms and hand."

A host of Bollywood celebrities visited the actor at the hospital. Uday Chopra, one of actor's closest friends, flew down from Dubai as soon as he heard about his friend's surgery, according to a report by The Times of India.

Shah Rukh Khan's wife, Gauri Khan, was among the first to visit Hrithik Roshan after his successful surgery. She is said to be close to his wife. Other celebrities who visited the actor include producer and director Karan Johar, director Karan Malhotra and director Abhishek Kapoor, actor Sanjay Kapoor with wife Maheep, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar and actor Sharman Joshi.

Once the actor completes his four-week rest period, hectic promotion and shooting schedule awaits him. The actor intends to do a month-long world-wide promotion of Krrish 3, scheduled to release on November 04, 2013. Also, Fox Star Studio, producer of Bang Bang are waiting actor's return to shooting to complete the third shooting schedule of the movie.
