Manny Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum is not truthful about saying that they are waiting on Floyd Mayweather to sign off for the much anticipated mega fight, according the vice president of sports for Showtime, Stephen Espinoza. Espinoza revealed that there is no contract waiting for Mayweather and Arum has misinterpreted the current status of the on-going negotiations.

Manny Pacquiao, Bob Arum and Michael Koncz have been talking about the contract proposal for Mayweather and they’re reportedly just waiting for Mayweather to agree and sign the contract before the given deadline. The Filipino boxer’s side has been pretty vocal that the ball is firmly in Team Money to finally make the fight happen.

However, according to Espinoza, there are still contract issues, which need to be sorted out. He revealed that there was never anything settled for the Top Rank promoter, which is why he is saying that Arum is not being truthful.

“No one is waiting on Floyd to rubber stamp or sign anything,” Espinoza said via Boxing Scene. “Arum isn’t being truthful on this and he knows it.” He revealed that there is no contract awaiting Floyd Mayweather’s signature. Although they’ve made significant progress already, there are still open issues, which must be resolved. Thus far, there’s no agreement or a closed deal for the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight. In fact, Espinoza revealed that neither CBS nor Showtime agreed on anything yet.

Meanwhile, Manny Pacquiao’s adviser, Michael Koncz already exploring other fight options for the Filipino boxing icon. According to Koncz, who is skeptical about a fight against Floyd Mayweather, Amir Khan of Britain is a possible fight option for Pacquiao in April or May. Koncz doubts that Floyd Mayweather will push a fight with Pacquiao on May 2, so he is already looking for an opponent to replace the undefeated American boxer. Koncz has been negotiating with Golden Boy promotions regarding the Khan fight. Arum said that although they are trying to nail down the Mayweather fight, they do have a back-up plan.
