Another conflict between family and career comes into play as “Blue Bloods” returns on Friday. On Season 7 Episode 16, titled “Hard Bargain,” Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) finds himself in a tricky situation involving his wife’s brother. As if belonging to a family of cops isn’t complicated enough, Danny now has to contend with a troubled relative.

“Entourage” alum Kevin Dillon has signed up as a guest star to play the role of Danny’s brother-in-law, Jimmy O’Shea. Danny is caught off-guard when Jimmy turns up at his doorstep, asking for his help after running into a problem with the mob. Linda’s (Amy Carlson) brother pleads with Danny to keep him safe until everything’s in the clear.

Dillon joins other “Blue Bloods” characters who will appear prominently on the Feb. 17 run including Frank (Tom Selleck), Erin (Bridget Moynahan), Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray). The series also stars Det. Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez), Henry (Len Cariou) and Nicky (Sami Gayle).

Due to the unfortunate incident, the man’s lawyer wants to have the NYPD officers’ disciplinary records disclosed in public. Nicky also appears in the upcoming run as he tags along Jamie.

CBS has posted a sneak peek of the Feb. 17 episode of “Blue Bloods” on its official site. In the trailer, Danny arrives home teeming with police cars and cops. He wonders if someone tried to break into his house. Jimmy reveals himself and tells Danny that he needs to lay low for a few days. Later, Danny is informed that his brother-in-law is in a lot of trouble.

In another scene, Danny is seen reprimanding Jimmy inside a vehicle. “You could have gotten him in the ICU,” Danny tells him. “I never thought it would go this far,” Jimmy replies. Danny also meets with a member of the mob, who orders him to bring Jimmy to them. However, Danny refuses, saying “I can’t do that.”
