According to TV Guide, Erin lends a hand to Anthony, who finds himself in a sticky situation involving a bad investment because of his cousin. Meanwhile, Jamie and Danny don’t see eye to eye on how to manage a reckless NYPD rookie.

CBS has posted sneak peeks of the Mar.11 “Blue Bloods” episode on its official site. In one preview video, a brash newbie comes in between of Danny and Jamie. During dinner, Jamie lashes at Danny, “Not everybody’s cut out to be a cop.” Jamie fires back, saying, “You don’t get to make that call.” Frank intervenes and tells the two to keep it civil.

Another teaser shows Erin wondering to Henry if she has become too cynical. “I think my job makes me assume the worst in people,” she says. He brushes off her worry, and tells her that she’s just a realist and that it goes with the job. Erin then shares with him that she has to investigate Anthony’s cousin, who has been accused of scamming cops with bogus investments. Anthony has insisted on digging into the case even though his cousin is like a brother to him, which makes Erin suspicious of his true motives.

On the last sneak peek, the family is seen eating dinner when Jamie brings up that he has to mentor a rookie who doesn’t care about what he says. Jamie says, “Maybe you should try talking to him instead of talking down to him. You know mentoring doesn’t mean ‘be just like me.’ It means ‘let me find your strengths and help you grow them.’” Jamie insists that Marcus’ strength is the chip on his shoulder, to which Danny retorts, “Dig deeper.” He’s got no discipline, he’s got no regard for the rules, he’s an accident waiting to happen. Before their argument heats up further, Frank mediates between the two and Henry tries to make things lighter.

“Friends In Need” is directed by PJ Pesce and written by Kevin Riley and Kevin Wade.
