Historical accounts show that tetrad or four blood moons coincided with shaking events for Israel and the Jewish people - this as pointed out by popular televangelist John Hagee of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas.

He noted that in 1492, Spain expelled the Jews. Also, America which became the Jewish's refuge, was discovered by Columbus around this year.

In 1948, Israel was proclaimed a nation again.

"After 2,000 years, God supernaturally brought them from 66 nations and a nation was born in a day. That again was a supernatural something that happened following the tragedy of the Holocaust," Hagee noted in his book Four Blood Moons: Something Is About to Change.

In 1967, Israel succeeded in the Six-Day war and reclaimed Jerusalem.

"For the first time in 2,000 years, Jerusalem and the State of Israel were together again," Hagee pointed out.

"In each of these blood moons, you have something that begins in tragedy and ends in triumph," Hagee explained.

With all these, Hagee believed that the series of Blood Moon 2014-15 is God's way of conveying a message of a history repeating itself.

"There's a sense in the world that things are changing and God is trying to communicate with us in a supernatural way. I believe that in these next two years, we're going to see something dramatic happen in the Middle East involving Israel that will change the course of history in the Middle East and impact the whole world," Hagee said.

Hagee explained that a blood moon happened when the Earth comes between the sun and the moon.

"And the sun is shining through the atmosphere of the Earth and casts up on the moon a red shadow. And so the moon appears to be red," as written in Hagee's book.

In his book, Hagee wrote that four blood moons are of Biblical significant.

God said "wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire ... the sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord," in the book of Joel.

The Apostle Peter replicates the verse from Joel in the book of Acts while the book of Revelation spoke the moon becoming like blood during the Great Tribulation.

Blood moon on April 15, 2014, coincides with the Jewish Passover, while blood moon in September 2014 will coincide with the Feast of Tabernacles, or Sukkot. The blood moon happening in 2015 will also appear on Jewish feast days.

These blood moons of 2014-15, Hagee observed, seemed to appear as Iran works toward the completion of its nuclear weapons, while Israel's neighbouring countries - Egypt and Syria - are disorderly.

"The only reason that Iran will not acquire a nuclear bomb will be that Israel chooses a military solution to that crisis," Hagee explained in an interview with CBN News.

"I believe that if that happens, it will start a series of events that will change the course of world history. If Israel does not, then it will still change the course of world history."

Since 2006, Hagee took it as a mission to warn of the Iranian nuclear threat which he continues at present.

"If there was ever a time for the Christians of America to stiffen their spine and stand up and speak up, it's now. To see evil and not call it evil is evil. Not to speak is to speak. We cannot be silent and receive God's approval at a time like this."

And while the blood moon of 2014-15's message remained blurred, Hagee is sure of one thing.

"When all is said and done, the flag of Israel will be flying over the walls of the city of Jerusalem when Messiah comes, and it's going to be forever. And every nation that rises up in judgment against Israel God will punish and punish severely."

Meanwhile in Australia, people in the eastern states will witness the blood moon rising around twilight; those in central Australia will see the tail end of the eclipse, but unfortunately, it will be invisible for those in Western Australia.

Dr Nick Lomb, consultant astronomer and curator of Powerhouse Museum and Sydney Observatory, told ABC that for Aussies to view the blood moon eclipse, they sould be in the position cleared off trees, hills and buildings.

At 5:28 pm AEST the moon will already be eclipsed but the bright sky around that time will blur the view. Instead, observers will just see light reddish fudge on the horizon, Mr Lomb said.

Give it five minutes and more and the bright reddish moon will reveal itself.

At around 5:46 pm AEST, Earth will cast a shadow on the Moon and by 6:25 pm AEST the moon will depart from the Earth's shadow.

The blood moon eclipse will be visible until 7:33 pm AEST.

"Even if people can't see the Moon when it's red they should still be able to see the Moon creep out of the Earth's shadow and that's still interesting."
