Fans of the long-running massively multiplayer online roleplaying game, or MMORPG, title “World of Warcraft” should look forward to a big reveal at Gamescom 2015. Developer Blizzard has confirmed that it will unveil a sixth expansion pack at the gaming event to be held at Cologne, Germany, which will run from August 6 to August 9.

Blizzard announced via the official blog of “World of Warcraft” that it will hold a livestream to reveal the expansion on Thursday, August 6, at 9 a.m. PDT. A follow-up stream will then be held on Sunday, August 9, at 8 a.m. PDT, which will feature a panel of developers to further discuss the expansion.

The latest expansion has been expected ever since “World of Warcraft” lead designer Ion Hazzikostas had hinted that there would be a follow-up to the patch 6.2. This patch, as well as patch 6.1, were both released in May. These are considered as the two major patches for Warlords of Draenor, which was the fifth expansion for the game.

Since then, Blizzard had been asked whether the big content updates would stop with Warlords of Draenor. To this, the developer assured that it will continue to churn out content for its waiting fans. “We've got plenty of more story to be told after this," Hazzikostas previously said to Polygon.

Patch 6.2 of “World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor” introduced the new area, dubbed as the Tanaan Jungle. In addition, it gave players an increased level cap that allows them to level up to 100 rather than 90. This also allows an upgrade to character model and eight new dungeons. It is safe to assume that much like the previous expansions, the upcoming additional content will add more areas and quests to the world of Azeroth.

Bllizzard has continued to show support to the game with expansions that come out every two years. However, with the upcoming expansion, this is the smallest timeframe Blizzard has had between expansions with only eight months since the release of “Warlords of Draenor” last November 13.
