Blizzard’s “Heroes of the Storm” is the company’s own take on a multiplayer online battle arena or MOBA, which uses characters from worlds of Blizzard’s games. The new addition to the roster is Rexxar from “World of Warcraft,” unveiled via a new spotlight video.

Rexxar differs from other “Heroes of the Storm” heroes as he is played along with a bear companion named Misha. Aside from that, he is also the first ranged Warrior-class character in “Heroes of the Storm”. Majority of Warrior-class heroes are melee as they serve as tanks, absorbing damage on the frontline and setting up enemies so that they can be taken down by teammates. Rexxar still serves as a tank for his other teammates, but his bear will absorb most of damage upfront.

The video seen below shows off all of Rexxar’s abilities. It is worth noting that most of Rexxar’s skills are geared towards complementing Misha throughout battles.

One of his skills is called “Misha, Charge!” and by the name, Misha will charge towards enemies, ramming and stunning them while also dealing damage. To make Misha a more formidable pet on the field, players can use Bestial Wrathe which is Rexxar’s Heroic Ability that will buff Misha and give her more damage. When Misha runs low on health, players can use Mend Pet to heal the bear over time. As for his passive skill, Rexxar has Misha, Attack/Follow, which can be toggled to order the bear to stay near or far away from Rexxar.

Rexxar’s other skills also make use of summoning beasts. One of these is Spirit Swoop, which when activated, will summon a hawk that flies forward, dealing damage and slowing enemies in the way. His other animal-related Heroic ability dubbed, Unleash the Boars, lets Rexxar summon boars that can reveal, damage and slow target enemies.

The best way to play Rexxar and Misha is through proper positioning. Destructoid reports that Rexxar and Misha are best played as a tandem with Misha absorbing and dealing damage upfront while Rexxar attacks from a distance while slowing down enemies. The release date for Rexxar is not yet known. Gamespot reports that he will roll out along with two other characters, Medic and Artanis from “Starcraft.”
