In Season 3 Episode 16 of “The Blacklist,” Liz (Megan Boone) and Red (James Spader) will be dealing with a mysterious figure known as “The Caretaker.” The secretive person has some interesting details about Red’s past, which may also shed more light on Liz’s mother.

“A State Department official is killed in Beijing, leading Red and Liz to "The Caretaker," a shadowy keeper who maintains a safety-deposit vault for criminals. Also, Tom makes a risky decision, and Liz continues her quest to learn more about her mother,” stated the official episode synopsis on TV Guide.

At the end of Season 3 Episode 15, Rostova gave Red a painting of Liz standing near a gravestone with Red’s name on it. Apparently, Liz’s mother is searching for Red. Liz will most likely get more facts about her mother. Red previously told Liz that her mother was last spotted walking into the ocean and her survival remains unknown. The new episode may reveal the truth about Liz’s mother, and the latter may actually be alive.

Liz and Tom (Ryan Eggold) are finally on better terms after their relationship seemed to turn sour in the past few episodes. Liz finally decided not to put her baby up for adoption. Red also vowed that Liz will have the life she always wanted, away from all the violence and dangers to her child.

“The Caretaker” is said to be a mysterious keeper who maintains a safety deposit vault particularly for criminals. As shown in the promo video for the upcoming episode, the Caretaker hides the vital information in a cemetery. Later on, he begins to share information about criminals, including some details on Red’s background. Red will have to deal with The Caretaker before more people finds out about his secrets. The footage also featured Liz getting angry with Red after she learns something new about him from The Caretaker. Red may have lied to Liz about something or her mother.

“The Blacklist” Season 3 Episode 16 will air on Feb. 25 on NBC in the US and on Channel 7 in Australia. More updates and details are expected soon.
