[Spoiler Alert: The article contains spoilers from episode 18 of "The Blacklist" Season 2, read at your own risk.]

The episode 18 of “The Blacklist” Season 2, titled “Vanessa Cruz,” will see Tom Keen asking Liz if it is possible for them to start over. Like a grumpy father who disapproves of her daughter’s choice, Red will try to make sure that this reunion does not happen. The preview clip shows him pointing a gun at Tom. There is also a glimpse of Tom and Liz kissing.

The preview voiceover of episode 18 says “the man [Tom] she [Liz] loved or the man [Red] who protects her, it’s time to make a choice because there isn’t room for both of them.”

A man always returns home when he realises that he has nowhere else to go. That is what Tom (real name Jacob) did in “A Longevity Initiative.” He pushed his way back into Liz’s life at the end of “The Blacklist” Season 2 episode 17, saying "I had nowhere else to go." In this week’s episode, he will be seen pleading for Liz’s help, probably to get out of D.C. or to find the people who are looking for Sarah Hastings’ killer.

Meanwhile, Red wants Liz to remember what her life could be without Tom. And Liz can be seen telling Tom that their (sham) marriage and everything that happened, all of that could not be just pretend. The preview suggests that Liz and Tom have moved in together. It is likely that Liz is faking her emotions for Tom so that she could get information on Red from him.

Vanessa Cruz is the blacklister in this episode. The synopsis of the episode describes her as a provocative female Blacklister. She is a frame-up artist who targets the wealthy elite. Also the episode will see Red asking Liz to give him ‘the Fulcrum,’ as it is a matter of life and death.

Entertainment Weekly’s Spoiler Room has quoted Jon Bokenkamp, creator of the show, as saying that “the mythology surrounding the Fulcrum, Reddington and really the people who he is most afraid of comes in fairly sharp focus by the end of the season.”
